DERBY FOLK FESTIVAL

DERBY FOLK FESTIVAL  (www.derbyfolkfestival.co.uk)

FRI - SUN  5 - 6 - 7 OCTOBER 2012

ANNOUNCE THEIR NEW EXTENDED FESTIVAL

Following the huge success of last year’s festival, the Directors have extended the event with an early evening Sunday show with one of the folk scene’s most popular musicians, SETH LAKEMAN and his Band plus lots more concert choice on Sunday afternoon.

This year’s Derby Folk Festival also offers more workshops than in previous years from country and ritual dance, to fiddle and guitar.  Several Dance Teams are lined up to dance inside the Assembly Rooms complex, as well as outside on the Market Square.

There will be a special performance of “THE PAUPERS PATH”, Mick Ryan’s portrayal in song, words and music of the Nottingham Poor House at Southwell, which was especially commissioned for the Southwell Festival in 2011.

So the festival is raring to go!  Remember to write it in your diary, tell your friends and let‘s make the 6th Derby Folk Festival one of the best week-end festivals in Britain.
